Fairway Favorite Brands: Turtlebacks
As a female entrepreneur entering the golf industry, I am constantly drawn to other female-led brands in this community. Enter Emily Sprague from Turtlebacks. We met this summer when her sons were playing in the US Kids Golf tournament in Pinehurst. She had heard about my ball marker line and intentionally stopped by my pop-up to meet and support me. Swoon. We immediately hit it off and have been learning from each other ever since.
She has put years of work into developing exceptional golf pants for boys after seeing a massive gap in the market for what was available for them. Since her boys didn’t want the traditional stiff khakis, she designed a modern fit pant (who doesn’t love a jogger?!) in a 4-way stretch material so that her boys would be comfortable out on the greens. I love how personal Emily’s startup story is and the “why” behind the creation of Turtlebacks. What we won’t do for our kids, right?
Emily and her team continue to innovate with new additions to their line. Recently they launched a new color for their popular Play All Day pant, and I hear they’re working on shorts too! It’s a natural fit and I love the direction she’s taking her company, focusing on what her little golf dudes want and what is missing in the golf industry for their demographic. Keep up with her new releases on Instagram- @shopturtlebacks and you’ll be the first to see a new something that perhaps yours truly helped bring to life for her brand!
If you’re local to Pinehurst, you can shop us both at the Holly Arts Festival on October 19th! We’ll be sharing a booth and will have some new products for you to shop in person. Our tent will be in front of Monkee’s of the Pines so swing by, say hi, and grab some gifts for the golfers in your life!
